Who Should I Pick to Sell My Apartment Building Property?

Picking a real estate agent to sell your apartment building can be a confusing thing—should you hire the guy who sold you your home? Your property manager? Your sister’s husband? Your neighbor? Who can give you the best advice, represent your highest interests, and close the deal with the least amount of stress for you and your family?

Here are basic questions to ask your potential agent before hiring them to sell your apartment building:

  1. How many apartment building properties have you sold this year?
  2. How many apartment buildings have you sold, ever?
  3. How many years have you been selling apartment buildings?
  4. Do you own any buildings?

Providing the highest level of service to my clients, resulting in record market-setting sales and peace of mind for them after the deal is closed takes practice, dedication, and hard work. I’ve dedicated my career to specializing in this sector because I’m also an owner, and I’ve bought and sold my own buildings over the years.

As of this writing in September of 2024, I’ve sold 8 properties; last year I sold 11, representing 32% of the total market share of apartment properties (defined as 4 or more units) sold in the state. Over the course of my career, I’ve sold 125 apartment building properties totaling 1,124 units, and I’ve been specializing in multifamily real estate sales since 2006.

Before that, I tried everything else—residential, industrial-warehouse and retail leasing and sales. That’s how I know hiring a “jack of all trades, master of none” results in sub-standard service and less money in the pockets of owners who choose a broker based on the false assumption that any realtor will do when picking someone to sell their apartment building.

When you hire a broker to do the important job of selling your apartment building, experience, knowledge, and the ability to reach the broadest audience of buyers are the keys to success. Let’s talk about your building today!
